this is my idea for a story that replaces halo 2 with something that does not suck. Instead of grouping up with the elites the humans find a way to teleport spartans from long distances using the energy shield system. so the humans bring back all of the spartans and link up with a large group "heretics" from halo 2. at the point where they link up with the heretics begin to search for other heretic groups forming a larger resistence. at some point i might have them reclaim a planet or two. after that point master cheif will kill a prophet on a heavily guarded cruiser, causing confusion and anger throughout the covenant forces. those were my ideas and this is what i've got:

John fiddled with his MA5B assault rifle, he would soon arrive on Cairo, which was currently under high defense. The covenant fleet would come soon, how long humanity had no one knew.
Chapter I
before disaster
Spartan 427 Success and his comrades prepared for combat, he knew what was going on down on planet Tamia 7, a losing fight, that hopefully he and his other teammates could turn in humanity’s favor. Thoughts raced through his mind, he couldn’t believe that the covenant had already reached his home planet. He knew this day would come but so soon? He knew the war had gotten bad... but just how bad was it? “Look alive, Spartans!” The Spartan leader said. “covenant search teams are all over the planet, we don’t yet know what they are looking for, but are we gonna let them find it?” All the Spartans yelled at the same time, “hell no!” their leader Tindog replied with, “then get your assess moving! Their gonna find whatever it is if your taking so god damn long!” Spartan 415 cleared his throat. “We’ll have a quick mission brief, your mission is to keep the landing zone clear of all covenant so that we can send troops, just protect that area clear until our troops show up ” Everyone of the Spartans sped up their packing, and ran out of the living quarters, Tindog put his hand on success’s shoulder, “your in charge of team 2" Tin said. “ Bruce and omega will be on your team.” success wondered and couldn’t help but ask “Why me sir?” Success asked. “Bruce is much more capable than me as far as leadership goes...” Tindog waved him on and said. “Good luck Success...” Success hurried through the halls and was rushed into a drop pod. “It will probably be a rough landing.” the support staff said. “The area will be bombed 10 seconds before you hit surface .” The hatch closed and shot off into space, as the pod whirred Success whispered to himself, “something tells me this is gonna be one hell of a fight”
chapter II

his pod jerked back as he entered the atmosphere, and almost took the air out of his lungs.
Thoughts raced through Success’s mind, just what were the covenant up to? What were they planning? Just why had they come to Tamia? Success’s thoughts were abruptly stopped as the parachute opened and the pod’s thrusters blasted on, the entire pod jerked back even more than the last time. But a couple seconds the thrusters failed and the parachute ripped off he felt sickening speed. He heard an explosion and then, Impact, impact so great, that it tore open the pod and threw him to the ground like an abused rag doll. He was dazed and his energy shields were down, but they had probably saved his life. then Impact sent him sprawling to the ground, this time it was omega’s pod. Omega ripped the door off and jumped out of the drop pod. The area was clear. But where was Bruce? They saw a narrow opening in the surrounding rock walls that closed off the area, and began moving towards it, hoping to link up to Bruce, wherever he may be.... though the second they got through the narrow passage covenant fire almost consumed them. Omega hocked a couple of grenades they took out a group of grunts and an elite, before they had to duck behind the jagged rocks. The rocks started to get hot, and turned red, “what’re we gonna do?” Omega asked. “How should I know?!?!” Success yelled. Then suddenly, the constant plasma fire detoured and focused on something else, a Spartan rigged banshee. It fired it’s main cannon 6 times killing 40 or more before exploding, and showering the group of covenant with molten shrapnel, killing at least 20 more. The rest of the 15 covenant were dazed, success took a head count, 5 elites, 5 grunts 2 hunters and 3 jackals. Then a rocket exploded and sent the hunters flying, a sniper round pierced through two elite skulls before fire was even returned. And at that time Success let off a couple of burst of his assault rifle and clipped the knees of one elite and chest of the other. Omega had already charged and was pumping shotgun ammo into the elites, but the third elite had disappeared, and there was no time to look for him as the five grunts and three jackals were firing at the Spartans. Though they were pretty easy to mop up with Spartan 455's grenade, it exploded at the jackal’s feet. The grunts were all felled by the smoking barrel of Tin’s sniper rifle, but just as everything seemed over, the hidden elite jumped out with a plasma sword in hand and slashed wildly at Spartan 415. Tin dodged the sword, barley and then Tin grabbed the elite’s sword hand, and did the unexpected, he started to punch the elite in it’s chest plate, the elite roared in surprise, but quickly started to punch back. The elite dropped the sword but then tackled Tin, and they both tumbled down the hill of sand. At the bottom of the hill tin finally fell, the elite grabbed the sword and raised it above it’s head, just as the armor-piercing rounds of a M5AB rifle spilt the elite’s blood all over Tin’s visor.
“your welcome...” success said sarcastically.
chapter III
a new way to fight
Major Reeves almost jumped at the email she had just got, it read,

Dear major Reeves,
it is my concern to inform you that the new Mjolnir armor, the ROC- M2, is ready for Spartan use. Unlike the previous Mjolnir armor, the ROC- M2 , is color coded, as there has been a problem with quick identification in the past. Use of this armor is strictly to be used as assigned.
Each ROC- M2 is custom fitted to each Spartan’s needs, and will be labeled so no confusion will happen in any way. the new armor is superior in every way as, to be blunt the ROC- M2 armor can take a rocket and the person inside will survive. The new Mjolnir armor’s statistics are as listed:
shield capacity at 2X greater than original Mjolnir armor
life support systems upgraded, by 1.5X
enhanced reflexes due to armor will be increased.
Drawbacks are listed:
internal Batteries must be charged every 10 hours.(normal shields will function normally even if not charged. life support will work as well but only at original capacity.)
The armor’s shielding is divided into three groups. The first shield takes only about 5 seconds to fully charge, The second takes about 10 seconds to charge fully, and the last takes about 30 seconds. personally I believe that we must use Spartans in order to survive this war, and we will survive. Do not worry about cost, these suits are free of charge... for humanity!

She had never felt better. “Excuse me Mam.” Said the support staff. “It’s time to meet the Spartan team. They’ve cleared the landing zone.”

Success looked up in awe as about 50 pelicans roared down and starting unloading troops, warthogs, tanks and even a Spartan. The Spartan looked at Success and said “hey, I’m the new guy. I was sent to join Spartan team 300, you guys all?” success shook his head and said. “We’ve got a new team member, and he’s a dumbass...” Spartan 455 said with anger in his voice. “What was that about? Don’t make me hurt you.” then tindog piped up like never before. “ shut the fuck up!!! Don’t make me hurt you? How about I get your dumbass replaced!?!? one of our comrades is MIA, you dick, are you even Spartan material?!? is that even real Mjolnir armor? ” then a voice said “you will stand down!” it was major Rona Reeves who had just yelled. “Bishop is now a part of your team and no matter how mad you are, you will treat each other with dignity!” “Ok...” tindog said with anger and disappointment in his voice. “Just a question, but why send a team of Spartans, when you have this many troops?” “A simple answer.” she replied. “we needed a team strong enough to take on that many covenant, but few enough so that if they were, to say, have a bomb we wouldn’t have to risk much the reason we weren’t really worried about losing Spartans was most Spartans can defuse covenant bombs, and all can take out covenant fast. ” She walked over to a pelican and pointed to a map on it’s inside wall. “You next mission is on this map of the area.” she got closer and pointed towards a mountain on it. “we need you to get to the inside of this mountain. we have intercepted covenant transmissions that there is a way to control an unstoppable army there. Whether this is true or not, is impossible to tell at this point but, if the covenant are searching for it, then we must search too.” she frowned and said. “The war’s going bad enough already, but we do have good news.” Most of the Spartan team sighed thinking it wasn’t as big of a deal as it really was. “You’ve got new superior armor. Get changed.” the Spartans went into the makeshift base, where they were changed into the color coded ROC- M2 armor. Success walked out with his team admiring their new armor, Spartan team 300 heard “saddle up, and Give’ em hell!” A large group of solders pulled off in warthogs, some of the warthogs were standard machine gun turrets and others were “rocket hogs.” several tanks went too, solders with assault rifles, rocket launchers and sniper rifles rode on the treads. Success looked at Tin and said “we’d better get going too.” Tin sighed and said “as ususal we’ll split up. I’ll take Bishop and tammy you take Unreal and Omega.” The Spartan teams wished each other luck, and got into warthogs. Team two went to support the non- Spartan personnel, and Team one went to the area were the covenant were approaching from the east. They were all alone but they would be equipped to take on an army . Tindog looked at the bomb in his lap, and thought of his destination.... the covenant cruiser redemption.
and the start of my new draft which will have alot of the same stuff but will explain how new spartans show up and how things get to a more equel fight.
